Inconel X-750/ASTM B 693 for Custom Flat Springs & Stampings

Please note that we do not sell Inconel X-750 or any other materials in raw form. Inconel X-750 sheet and strip are material options for custom springs, etc., manufactured by Peninsula Spring.

Inconel X-750/ASTM-B 693 is a high temperature nickel alloy that is highly resistant to chemical corrosion and oxidation. It exhibits high stress-rupture strength and low creep rates under high stresses at temperatures up to 1500°F (816°C). Alloy X-750 is the most common type of Inconel, and is an excellent choice when designing flat springs for extreme temperature environments.

Heat Treating Inconel X-750

For maximum creep, relaxation & rupture strength at temperatures above 1100°F (593°C)

  1. Solution treatment at 2100°F (1149°C); hold for 2 to 4 hours
  2. Air-cool to room temperature
  3. Intermediate age at 1550°F (843°C); hold for 24 hours
  4. Air-cool to room temperature
  5. Final age at 1300°F (704°C); hold for 20 hours
  6. Air-cool to room temperature

For highest room temperature yield strength & tensile ductility

  1. Stress equalization at 1625°F (885°C); hold for 24 hours
  2. Air-cool to room temperature
  3. Precipitation age at 1300°F (704°C); hold for 20 hours
  4. Air-cool to room temperature

Manufacturing Custom Inconel X-750 Flat Springs & Stampings

Inconel X750/ASTM-B 693 is used to fabricate flat springs and sheet metal stampings that are used in very high temperature applications, such as jet engine components, nuclear power plant applications, heat-treating fixtures, forming tools, and extrusion dies. It is cold drawn and precipitation hardened after fabrication.

  • Alloy X750
  • UNS 07750
  • ASTM B637
  • AMS 5698
  • AMS 5699
